Test 2015: Castelli saddle bag
The best place for a spare inner tube and tools is still under the saddle. The new Undersaddle dry transporter from Castelli is now available for this purpose.
The XL version offers space for a tube, mini tool and cartridge pump. Weighing just over 60 grams, the bag is made of waterproof material, has a sealed zip and can be attached quickly and securely to the saddle frame and seat post thanks to two Velcro straps. During the test, we noticed that although the slim black bag provides good protection against damp dirt, it is not completely waterproof in constant rain. The front Velcro strap could be a little too short for extremely voluminous aero posts.
