If you are looking for a saddle with a classic look for your road bike, the Cambium C13 from Brooks be an option. There are currently 16 different versions of this series, with and without cut-outs, different frames and saddle covers made from various materials. Our test model has a flat, closed saddle cover made of weatherproof natural rubber and is available in widths of 131, 145 and 158 millimetres. The frame with a high-oval cross-section is made of carbon fibre. The fact that the Brooks saddle slopes sharply to the sides makes it feel very narrow even in the widest version and creates a clear pressure point in the perineal area. Sit bones up to 13 centimetres apart are just about adequately supported. The feeling of pressure increases accordingly with a very stretched sitting position. In this respect, the classic saddle offers the best riding comfort for narrow cyclists who are travelling in a relatively upright position on their road bike. At 285 grams, it is around twice as heavy as current competitor models at Road bike saddles at prices of around 200 euros, but no heavier than the classics of yesteryear.
