For men, the Roubaix is considered the prototype of the comfort bike, while the "female" counterpart is called Ruby and is even more comfortable.

The riding position is upright, the saddle is thick and softly padded and the handlebars are comfortable to grip. In addition, the riding behaviour is trimmed for straight-line stability. The bike is available in no less than eight equipment variants and in very small sizes.

PLUS Efficient disc brakes, good-natured, smooth handling, easy gears, comfortable saddle and handlebars

MINUS Relatively heavy, maintenance of the brakes requires technical understanding

Conclusion Annina: Very comfortable and very safe. I got on well with the SRAM gears.

Conclusion Manuela: A very good-natured bike, with the position and the good brakes you feel safe straight away

Rating in the TOUR test lab: overall grade 1.9
