Even lighter, even stiffer, even faster. The bike brand Liv is not sparing with superlatives when presenting its new Langma 2022 model. The racing bike is available in three different versions, designed to cover all requirements from amateur riders to WorldTour professionals. The fundamental difference is the three different carbon qualities. However, all three versions share the same race-ready frame construction, which clearly categorises the bike as a competition racer.
The top model Langma Advanced SL, official bike of the Liv Racing WorldTour team, is not only supposed to be stiffer but also 60 grams lighter than the first generation of the bike thanks to longer, more even carbon fibres. The fork has also been revised and, according to the manufacturer, should now offer 50 per cent more lateral stiffness than its predecessor. A positive side effect of the new design: greater tyre clearance. Tyres up to 32 millimetres wide are now possible - ideal for use on gravel or cobblestones.
The aerodynamic Liv Contact SLR handlebar, which is fitted to all model variants, is also a new development. As before, the bike comes with fully integrated flat-mount brakes.
The revised semi-elliptical tubes are designed to reduce air resistance in a larger approach angle range - according to Liv, this leads to noticeable time savings on the flat, on descents and in headwinds. The brand, which belongs to the Taiwanese Giant Group, is also proud of the development of the new Variant SLR full carbon seatpost. Added to this are the brand new CADEX 36 Disc wheels with improved crosswind behaviour.
The most affordable version of the Langma 2022 is equipped with Shimano's 105 gears and costs €2,299. According to the manufacturer, the top model, which is already being used by the Liv Racing Team in the Women's World Tour this season, is customised and only then priced accordingly.
