Led by world champion Lotte Kopecky, Wiebes was able to distance the competition by several bike lengths on the uphill finishing straight. Letizia Paternoster (Liv AlUla Jayco) came second ahead of Clara Copponi (Lidl-Trek).
A breakaway group had dominated the day for most of the day, attacking after the first mountain classification less than ten kilometres after the start. Lea Lin Teutenberg (Ceratizit-WNT Pro Cycling) and Rebecca Koerner (Uno-X Mobility) initially had the company of April Tacey (Team Coop-Repsol), but had to ride in pairs for most of the day.
The remaining duo made it to 17 kilometres before the finish. Alice Towers (Canyon//SRAM) attacked immediately after catching up, and was joined shortly afterwards by Lauretta Hanson (Lidl-Trek). However, they were unable to prevent a bunch sprint with this offensive action and were caught eight kilometres before the finish. The sprinters' teams dominated until the finale, before Wiebes took her eighth win of the season.
