The "Pressure Drive" mini pump from Lezyne presses air into the tyre through a short, flexible tube - instead of through the pump head as is usually the case. This unusual solution offers a number of advantages: Because the tube is screwed onto the valve, theoretically no air can escape between the pump and the valve. There is also no need to fix the pump head by hand. In practice, however, the verdict is ambivalent: The pump, which is made entirely of aluminium, is of high quality and precisely manufactured. However, beyond five bar, an uncomfortably high level of effort was required to get more air into the tyre. This is sufficient for emergencies, but not enough for continuous use. In addition, the hands had a poor grip on the smooth surface, which made pumping difficult.
