The Cycplus mini compressor is an old favourite on the market. As one of the first mini compressors available, it has already won over many cyclists. We were curious to see how the solid device would fare in our comparison test of a total of seven candidates - and award fourth place to the experienced veteran.
In the performance test, the competitors had to pump for time. This revealed a broad midfield of similar performances, from which the fast Silca and the somewhat leisurely Trek stand out. The Cycplus AS2 Pro is in the solid midfield with 59 seconds for four bars on a 30 millimetre tyre - significantly faster than the Trek (73 seconds), but slower than the Silca (30 seconds). The maximum test to seven bar takes 161 seconds. In terms of battery performance, it easily manages four tyres, which puts it neck-and-neck with most of its competitors - only the Silca pumps twice as many tyres.
In terms of handling and display, the Cycplus impresses with good operation, while the noise development is at a similarly high level as with all devices. However, there are clear differences in temperature development: at four bar, the AS2 Pro remains moderately warm at 35 degrees, but heats up to a high 62 degrees at the maximum test pressure of seven bar - significantly hotter than the Silca and Trek, which are still comfortable to touch. Cycplus scores highly in terms of equipment: an extension hose, silicone cover, USB-C cable and valve adapter come as standard, and the spare gaskets included are an added bonus.
The Cycplus AS2 Pro has been on the market for some time and showed a solid performance in the test. Size and weight are in the mid-range, the pump works reliably and brings a road bike tyre up to four bar in an average of 59 seconds. It takes 160 seconds to reach seven bar. The housing heats up to 62 degrees in the process - making it one of the models in the test that heats up significantly. The noise development is audible, but not unusual. The fast charging time is a positive feature: The battery is fully ready for use again after around 40 minutes. There is no integrated light, but Cycplus supplies useful spare parts such as an additional rubber seal.
