This is what cycling fans dream of: to go for a spin on a real professional racing bike. For our participants in the 2006 TOUR Camp in Cambrils, Catalonia, this dream came true: twelve professional bikes were at the start, some of them fresh from the team trucks of T-Mobile and Co. (TOUR 7/2006)

Benedikt Nohn is blown away. He has just returned from a 120-kilometre ride on the Pinarello "Paris Carbon", the bike ridden by Alejandro Valverde, winner of Flèche Wallone and Liège-Bastogne-Liège in 2006. "If I had the money, I'd buy it straight away!" says Benedikt - but just under 9,000 euros is a lot of money, even if you get a real professional bike for it. Unfortunately, Benedikt Nohn doesn't have the money right now. And he probably won't become a professional either.

Our twelve super racers from Cervélo to Wilier, all bikes from ProTour teams, formed one of the most exclusive TOUR test fields ever. And there were bikes from real pros among them.
