According to Gerard Vroomen, former founder of Cervélo and co-owner of 3T since 2016, the impetus for developing the "Strada" came from thinking about what racing bikes might look like in five years' time. Aerodynamic frame shape, disc brakes, 28 millimetre wide tyres - many progressively-minded road cyclists are likely to follow 3T this far. However, there will certainly be discussion about Vroomen's prediction that 1x11 drivetrains will prevail on road bikes. If you disagree, the Strada is unfortunately not for you. There is no provision for fitting a front derailleur. On the other hand, Vroomen's ideas were often ridiculed at first and later proved right. For the time being, the Strada is only available as a frame set in four sizes. Price including seat post and steering bearings: 3,800 euros.
