Tour is on site at the Tour de France, equipped with measuring tape, scales and sharp eyes. They were lucky at the Intermarché-Wanty team hotel, because the frame of the newly crowned German champion Georg Zimmermann had just been delivered.

It's 7 p.m., the first stage of the Tour de France 2025 starts tomorrow, and four Intermarché mechanics are busy working on the Cube racer that has just arrived for the newly crowned German champion. His new Litening Aero C:68X is white, with black, red and gold on the rear of the seat tube and lightning bolts on the fork blades.

One-off for German champion Georg Zimmermann

Georg Zimmermann was of course allowed to help shape the design and thinks the result is very successful, as he proudly tells us while the mechanics are still wrapping the handlebar tape. Tomorrow, master craftsman Zimmermann will be able to ride his unique bike to the start of the first stage of the Tour de France. His German colleagues are sure to cast a few envious glances at Zimmermann's master racer!

At the last minute

The new frame of the newly crowned German champion Georg Zimmermann arrived by express delivery from the painter at virtually the last moment before the start of the tour. Four mechanics worked simultaneously to ensure that the bike was ready at record speed and in time for the start of the tour, so that the Augsburg rider could take to the start line fully styled: After just under two hours, the body was ready.

The white metallic paintwork of the Cube Litening Aero is interspersed with black, red and gold colour particles, while at the rear a small black, red and gold paint job on the seat clamp refers to the championship title. The lightning bolts on the fork are a reference to the Litening model from Cube. A reference to his championship title is emblazoned on the top tube and his nickname "Gigi" is written on the seat tube.

Zimmermann will have to take good care of the frame: There are no replacements in the event of a crash, so far the frame is one of a kind.
