The grand finale of the tour will take place in Nice in 2024, and not traditionally in Paris. And there won't be a leisurely triumphant ride along the Champs-Elysees either, as the final stage from Monaco to Nice will be decided in an individual time trial. Tour boss Christian Prudhomme says: "You can't simply replace Paris and the sprint on the Champs-Elysees. So firstly, we looked for a prestigious venue and found it in Nice and secondly, we came up with something special. We hope that the gaps between the top riders in the overall standings will be so small until the final individual time trial on the final day that it really will remain exciting until the last second."
