The cycling highlight of 2025 is coming up: the Tour de France. The men will reach the finish line on 27 July 2025, while the women will start the day before with the Tour de France Femmes, which will take place from 26 July to 3 August 2025.

Don't go to the Tour de France without sun protection (Femmes)

If you are at the Tour de France, you should definitely think about three types of sun protection. For your skin, for your eyes and for your head.

1. sun cream

Sun cream protects the skin from harmful UV radiation. Sunburn, premature skin ageing and skin cancer can occur as a result of UV radiation. Better safe than sorry! So pack a sun cream and apply it regularly. Sun protection factor 20? Leave it at home. Better take the hard stuff with you: SPF 50 >> A large selection of sun cream is available here, for example.

For example:

2. cap / hat

To avoid hanging over the loo with nausea and a headache, we recommend you pack some headgear. How about this cool hat in Lidl Trek design?

3. sunglasses

Did you know that you can also get sunburn in your eyes? It can also be exhausting to squint your eyes in the long term. Sunglasses can help. In the photo, I've already taken a look at the 2026 season and on the Eurobike tried on a new model from Julbo. By the way: glasses also help to keep insects, dust and other rubbish away from your eyes.

You can find a large selection of sunglasses, for example, at Mountain friends or Rose Bikes.

This gets you close to the action quickly

Brompton is launching a special edition of the C Line and P Line for the Tour de France 2025. For example, you can take the bus or train to the route - or park your car nearby - and then cycle the rest of the way on a Brompton.

For five decades, the Brompton folding bike has been there for people who go their own way - just like the Tour de France. We are united by the belief that bikes can change the world. We are celebrating this with two extraordinary special editions - for riders and for fans. - Chris Willingham, Marketing Director at Brompton.

  • "King of the Mountains" saddle with red dots

Each bike is handmade in London and then customised with the tour photography using sublimation printing. The result is a smooth, weatherproof surface that is resistant to UV rays, rain and dirt.

Camping chair - if it takes longer

In many places you have to be early to get to the track. And then? Then you stand on the ground or sit on the ground. Or you can bring a mini camping chair and be the envy of others.

A camping chair with a small pack size is the Helinox One (Re) camping chair, which you can buy for example at Bergzeit finds.

Cowbell for cheering

You're not in the mood for loud cheering because you also want to have a chat in the evening and need your voice for that? Cowbells are the perfect way to set the mood on the roadside.

Of course, it doesn't have to be as big as the bell in the picture, but if it does: maybe a quick trip to the gym for a last-minute strength training session. But let's be honest, it's not that big. Imagine casually riding to the track with your freshly purchased Brompton in Tour de France design and this bell in one hand. Maybe you'd prefer a cargo bike after all, eh?

But enough about that now. You can find smaller bells for example at Amazon.

Bonus

A particularly eye-catching and expansive costume could get you on the TV broadcasts. Is something still standing in the way of your visit to the Tour de France? No? Then you're ready to go. Our colleagues are already on their way to Lille.
