After the start in Toulouse, within sight of the Pyrenees, there was real action. Breakaway groups formed again and again - and at the end there was also excitement and hectic action in the battle for the overall classification.
With Mauro Schmid and Jonas Abrahamsen, two breakaway riders sprinted for victory in the end, with the Norwegian having the better end for himself. However, the leading duo had to survive a scary moment on the finishing straight when a speedster appeared and was pushed away by a security guard.
Speaking of scary moments: Tadej Pogacar also experienced one. The world champion crashed in the finale, but was able to continue the race with minor injuries and finished without losing any time - partly because the competition slowed down and waited for the three-time Tour de France winner who had crashed.
