In Germany the fans celebrated Florian Lipowitz during the Tour de France, in Austria they celebrated Felix Gall. While the Swabian Lipowitz often finished within sight of the two top riders Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard and ended up in third place overall in Paris, the East Tyrolean Gall was somewhat less visible - at least in the world view of the TV stations. Nevertheless, his performance was not lost on his home country. "Gall catapults himself into new spheres," reported the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) from France. The professional cyclist from the French team Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale improved continuously in the overall classification over the three weeks and finished fifth overall. "Top ten is one thing in the overall standings, but top five is a different league," said Gall at the time. In late summer, he followed this up with eighth place in the Tour of Spain.
Now comes a visually stunning flashback. In collaboration with Eurosport and Warner Bros./Discovery, a compilation of images from the biggest successes of the past year has been produced, including fourth place at the Tour de Suisse and fifth place at the Tour of the Alps. The premiere can be seen on Friday 14 November in Lienz. Together with Gall, the East Tyrol Tourist Board invites you to the CineX cinema (address: Am Markt 2, 9900 Lienz, Austria) at 18:30. Afterwards, the video highlights from the 2025 season will also be available to watch for free on eurosport.de.
It was a long road for the young man from Nußdorf-Debant, who became the first Austrian junior world champion in road racing in 2015. After his early success, his career stalled. He celebrated his breakthrough in 2023 with a stage win at the Col de la Loze in the Tour de France and eighth place overall in Paris. Since then, things have continued to go uphill. He is now one of the world's elite tour specialists. His racing team Decathlon has strengthened its ranks for the coming year with, among others, Gall's compatriot Gregor Mühlberger and the US American Matthew Riccitello for the stage races and the Dutch top sprinter Olav Kooij.
