The top German cycling team Bora-hansgrohe has strengthened its team of helpers with Nico Denz, the racing team from Upper Bavaria has announced.
The 28-year-old leaves the Dutch team DSM after three years and joins the only German team in the WorldTour. "I have to say, it's something special to ride as a German in the biggest German team. I had been looking at Bora-hansgrohe for a while, if you can put it that way, but it just wasn't the right moment yet," said Denz.
This year, Denz achieved the greatest success of his career with a stage win at the Tour de Suisse. However, he is usually scheduled as a helper. "I think everyone realises that I wasn't hired as a leader here. But I'm sure that I can further strengthen the team with my skills and experience," said Denz.
