Following the withdrawal of the previous main sponsor Ceratizit, which became public in May, Sun searched for a successor solution. In vain, as he has now publicly announced. The team apparently no longer wants to compete in the last World Tour races in the Netherlands and China. The team will be on the start list for the last time next Saturday (30 August 2025) at a World Tour race in Plouay, France, which is financed by the same sponsor under the name Classic Lorient Agglomeration Ceratizit.
"Despite our best efforts to find a sponsor, the massive increase in costs and the current economic situation have made it impossible to continue the team. It is with deep regret that we confirm the end of Ceratizit Pro Cycling Team after this season," Sun wrote in a statement. The previous main sponsor Ceratizit had already announced the end of its sponsorship some time ago. This had already become public last May. The company from the metal industry had announced this year that it would be closing several locations in Germany and laying off several hundred employees.
The racing team was involved in professional women's cycling for eleven years. The last two seasons with a licence in the Women's World Tour. Last year, the team celebrated a sensational success when Frenchwoman Cédrine Kerbaol won a stage of the Tour de France Femmes. In total, the team has celebrated 65 victories in eleven years, including 13 in races of the most important Women's World Tour series. The team, which was led by German ex-pro Dirk Baldinger, also played an important role in track cycling. In Lisa Brennauer and Franziska Brauße, two riders were under contract with the team who celebrated Olympic victory for the German track foursome in Tokyo in 2021.
