Track cycling world champion Emma Hinze from Cottbus has won the sprint tournament at the Nations Cup in Milton/Canada. The 24-year-old beat Olympic champion Kelsey Mitchell from Canada in the final.

Hinze, Olympic silver medallist in the team sprint in Tokyo, won the final in two heats after finishing second in the time trial qualification in 10.560 seconds.

Lea Sophie Friedrich from Cottbus came fifth. Hinze and Friedrich had already won the team sprint together with Pauline Grabosch from Erfurt at the start.
