Professional cyclist Remco Evenepoel has extended his lead in the 77th Tour of Spain with his second stage win.
The 22-year-old Belgian won the 18th stage of the day after 192 kilometres from Trujillo up to the mountain finish in Alto de Piornal with a two-second lead over the Spaniard Enric Mas. Dutchman Robert Gesink finished third, having been caught as a soloist on the last kilometre of the final climb.
Evenepoel is now 2:07 minutes ahead of Mas in the battle for the overall leader's red jersey. The Spaniard Juan Ayuso Pesquera is third, already 5:14 minutes behind.
On Friday, the riders have to tackle a 138.3 kilometre medium-difficulty section around Talavera de la Reina. The Vuelta comes to an end next Sunday in Madrid.
