Professional cyclist Simon Geschke finished a strong second place in the individual time trial at the end of the 75th Tour de Romandie.
After 15.84 kilometres from Aigle to Villars, the Berlin-born rider was only beaten by Russia's Aleksandr Vlasov, who also won the overall classification, by 31 seconds. Geschke thus improved to third place in the final classification.
For Vlasov, who rides for the German Bora-hansgrohe team, it was his second win of the season after winning the Tour of Valencia. Second place in the overall standings went to Swiss rider Gino Mäder, 50 seconds behind, closely followed by Geschke (+55 seconds).
