Aleksandr Vlasov from the German cycling team Bora-Hansgrohe will not be taking part in the Tour de France, which starts in just under two weeks' time. This was confirmed by a team spokesperson.
After the 27-year-old's premature withdrawal from the Giro d'Italia due to a coronavirus infection, the team had discussed whether he should take part. Now the climbing specialist, who won the Tour de Romandie in 2022, is to be spared and built up for the Tour of Spain starting at the end of August. CyclingMagazine first reported on this.
