After 35 years, the Tour de France once again climbs the legendary Puy de Dome. An average gradient of 7.7 per cent over 13.3 kilometres awaits the professional cyclists at the end of the ninth stage on Sunday.
A perfect stage for the next clash between the Danish defending champion Jonas Vingegaard and the two-time Tour champion Tadej Pogacar, who had already fought thrilling duels in the Pyrenees.
The last four kilometres in particular are really steep with an average gradient of twelve per cent. The 182.4 kilometre stage starts in Saint-Leonard-de-Noblat.
