After the exertions in the Pyrenees, the sprinters can once again hope for a mass finish at the 110th Tour de France.
On the seventh stage over 169.9 kilometres from Mont-de-Marsan to Bordeaux on Friday, there is only one fourth-category climb to tackle. On the wide roads in Bordeaux, where the Tour is being held for the 81st time, there should then be an almost traditional sprint.
Then we will see how well the sprinters have coped with the mountains. Perhaps Phil Bauhaus will have the chance to win his first Tour stage after his second and third places in Bayonne and Nogaro.
