The favourites of the 110th Tour de France are now challenged. The fifth stage on Wednesday takes them into the Pyrenees. Over 162.7 kilometres from Pau to Laruns, the Col de Soudet is the first mountain of the highest category to be conquered.
A good 18 kilometres before the end, the riders also cross the summit of the Col de Marie Blanque. Afterwards, the descent to the finish awaits, which Tadej Pogacar remembers well. The Slovenian celebrated his first Tour stage win in Laruns in 2020.
