The breakaway riders should be hoping for their chance in the 19th stage of the Tour de France. On Friday, the professional cyclists will tackle the hilly 172.8 kilometres between Moirans-en-Montagne and Poligny in the Jura mountains.
The German mountain specialist Georg Zimmermann likes such routes. However, the power reserves of the pros are almost exhausted after almost three weeks of the Tour. A long straight awaits the riders at the end of the stage.
A challenging mountain stage in the Vosges mountains awaits on Saturday, with the Tour of France finishing in Paris the following day.
