A TV and a photographer's motorbike will be banned from the 15th stage on Sunday. In addition, both crews will each have to pay a fine of 500 Swiss francs (around 515 euros). This was announced by Tour organiser ASO on Saturday evening.
Both motorbikes had blocked an attack by overall runner-up Pogacar against race leader Jonas Vingegaard around 500 metres before crossing the Col de Joux Plane. Pogacar had started, but had to brake after just 20 metres because the road was blocked by the motorbikes riding side by side.
Pogacar played down the incident at the finish, but admitted that he had wasted energy unnecessarily. At the top of the pass, the 24-year-old then lacked the strength to sprint for bonus seconds against Vingegaard (26). The latter gained three seconds more than Pogacar and extended his lead to ten seconds at the end of the stage.
