A visit to the bosses: the ninth stage of the 109th Tour de France starts in Aigle at the headquarters of the UCI cycling organisation. After a loop through Switzerland, including the crossing of the 1778 metre high Col de la Croix, the riders return to France.
Before the finish, the more than 15-kilometre-long Pas de Morgins has to be conquered before the second mountain arrival in Les Portes du Soleil after a total of 192.9 kilometres. As Monday is the first rest day, the pros can invest a little more energy than on a normal Alpine stage.
