After the challenging days in the Alps, a more relaxed section awaits the professional cyclists on the 18th stage of the Tour de France.
The mostly flat 184.9 kilometres on Thursday will probably result in a bunch sprint before the finish line in Bourg-en-Bresse. There are only two minor category four climbs ahead, with the sprint classification coming late after 132.9 kilometres.
Actually, sprinter Phil Bauhaus would have had the last chance before the final stage in Paris to outdo Belgian Jasper Philipsen, who has won four times in this Tour. However, the rider from Bocholt gave up on the difficult Alpine stage on Wednesday.
