Now the favourites of the 109th Tour de France are challenged. On the eleventh stage over 151.7 kilometres from Albertville to the Col du Granon, things really get down to business in the Alps on Wednesday.
The Lacets de Montvernier, a second category mountain, serves as a warm-up programme for the professional cyclists. This is followed by the Col du Télégraphe, the 2642 metre high mountain giant Col du Galibier, before finally reaching the Col du Granon, another climb of the highest category.
After this stage, it should be clear how strong the top stars really are. Is there a challenger for the previously outstanding defending champion Tadej Pogacar?
