Bensheim will be the stage for Germany's top cyclocross specialists: the 2026 German Championships will be held on a challenging course in southern Hesse - where the new title winners will be crowned. The elite races are available in the Hessenschau livestream

Bensheim celebrates off-road cycling. The town in southern Hesse will host the German Cyclocross Championships on 10 and 11 January 2026. The cyclists will compete for the titles in a total of 18 classes. The highlights are the elite races for women (13:00) and men (14:30) on Sunday, 11 January, in which the successors to the last title winners Marcel Meisen and Elisabeth Brandau will be sought. The women's race will be contested by Lisa Heckmann, who finished tenth in the 2013 European Championships and is hoping to win her first title after ten podium finishes at the German Championships. According to the organisers, the men's elite race will be broadcast live on TV and livestreamed by HR. Hessischer Rundfunk broadcasts the men's and women's elite races live as part of the Hessenschau programme. Live pictures are also planned on sportschau.de. Former U23 cross world champion Philipp Walsleben will be on board as an expert.

The championship races take place on a 2.6 kilometre circuit with 60 metres of elevation gain. It covers 600 metres of asphalt, 1.9 kilometres of grass, 500 metres of gravel and 50 metres of sand. The course has two depots, two artificial obstacles, a twelve-step natural staircase four metres wide and two hurdles to slow down the pace.
