For Tour de France champion Tadej Pogacar it was not enough for a podium finish in his first individual time trial of the season.
The Slovenian professional cyclist had to settle for fourth place on the third stage of the UAE Tour over nine kilometres with start and finish in Ajman. Pogacar was 18 seconds slower than the Swiss winner Stefan Bissegger in the United Arab Emirates. Second and third places went to time trial world champion Filippo Ganna (Italy/0:07 minutes back) and former Giro winner Tom Dumoulin (Netherlands/0:14). Bissegger also took the lead in the overall standings.
