A spectator who rode his bike onto the route caused a mass crash on the second stage of the 2015 Giro d'Italia in Genova.

The official TV footage did not capture the situation. However, a mobile phone video shows (at about 10 seconds) how a man lifts the barrier tape and drives onto the road. Directly in front of the peloton, he rolls onto the road behind some bushes, forcing riders to take evasive action. As a result, there is a mass crash in which several riders sustain injuries. According to witnesses, the rider was travelling on a fixie bike - he survived the situation without crashing and left the track a few seconds later.

Trek Factory Racing rider Eugenio Alafaci bumps into Facebook and he was verbally abused. His anger is easy to understand - after all, two of his team-mates were involved in the crash.
