There will be no more Sixday Nights at the Hallenstadion Zurich in the near future. No agreement could be reached to extend the contract.
Falling spectator numbers and high hall rent mean the end for the Sixdays in Zurich. Although the decline in spectator numbers was halted in 2014, it was not possible to reach an agreement with the hall station for a contract extension that would have been financially viable for the organisers of the Sixday Nights. "The goal of a balanced bill could no longer have been guaranteed under the conditions offered, which is why the organisers have come to this difficult decision," reads a press release.
