Berlin (dpa) - Professional cyclist Michael Schwarzmann will be the second rider after Rüdiger Selig to switch from Team Bora-hansgrohe to the Belgian Lotto-Soudal racing team after the end of the season.

Lotto Soudal, where Schwarzmann signed a two-year contract, announced the signing of the 30-year-old from Kempten on Monday.

"After more than ten years under the German flag, during which I was able to develop as a rider, it is now time for a new challenge. When I got the offer to take part in Lotto Soudal's interesting project, I didn't even have to think about it for a minute," said Schwarzmann. Schwarzmann has made a name for himself at Bora-hansgrohe in recent years, particularly as a helper for sprint stars Peter Sagan, Pascal Ackermann and Sam Bennett.

Schwarzmann celebrated his only professional victory to date in 2016 at the Tour of Azerbaijan. With him, Selig and Roger Kluge, three German pros will be under contract with Lotto Soudal next season.
