Two-time Tour de France winner Tadej Pogacar will have to take a break of around six weeks following his crash in the spring classic Liège-Bastogne-Liège. This was announced by his UAE team.
The Slovenian had already undergone surgery on Sunday. The 24-year-old suffered a scaphoid fracture in his left hand in a fall after 84 kilometres. The cycling star travelled back to his home country on Monday, where he will begin his rehabilitation. Pogacar now has to get fit again quickly in order to start preparing for the Tour de France, which begins on 1 July. The race was won by the Belgian Remco Evenepoel.
