Roubaix (dpa) - There are still question marks over world champion Lea Sophie Friedrich's start at the Track Cycling World Championships in Roubaix (20-24 October).
The 21-year-old told a video press conference that she had been ill for a week after the European Championships in Grenchen. National coach Detlef Uibel said: "We will try to do something on the track again for the first time today."
Friedrich won two World Championship titles in Berlin last year and would be challenged directly in the team sprint in Roubaix on 20 October. There, the trio of Friedrich, Emma Hinze and Pauline Grabosch are clear medal contenders.
