Specialised is expanding its range of cycling clothing with the new Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe Tour Made in Racing LTD Kit. The collection was developed in collaboration with the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe WorldTour team and includes both professional racing clothing and replica versions for cycling fans. According to the manufacturer, the kit was developed in the in-house "WinTunnel" and under real conditions on the road in order to maximise aerodynamic advantages. The kit consists of a racing jersey and racing bib shorts in the professional version as well as corresponding replica models, which are based on the team clothing. Specialized emphasises that a special focus was placed on aerodynamics, fit and comfort during development in order to give cyclists the best possible performance.
The aerodynamic properties are at the forefront of the new collection. The kit features so-called SlipLayer aerotextiles, which, according to Specialized, are designed to reduce air resistance by up to 25 watts at a speed of 40 kilometres per hour compared to the SL jersey. The seamless panel construction is said to smooth the airflow and reduce turbulence. In addition, the edges are unhemmed and have flat seams to further minimise air resistance. The race jersey is made from a specially woven performance fabric with a material content of 85 per cent polyester and 15 per cent elastane in the main body and 76 per cent polyester and 24 per cent elastane in the sleeves. The racing bib shorts are made from a stretchy knitted fabric consisting of 78 per cent polyamide and 22 per cent elastane.
The race jersey has a full-length zip and two race pockets designed to optimise airflow across the lower back. The elasticated braces and seamless waistband of the race bib shorts are designed to ensure comfort even in aggressive riding positions. The leg cuffs are unhemmed and equipped with integrated grips, which should stay in place even under high loads. The seat pad of the pro version is designed as a triple-density Body Geometry Contour 3D Chamois and aims to relieve pressure zones and ensure all-day efficiency. Specialized emphasises that the high-density fit should help to stabilise the muscles, delay fatigue and accelerate recovery.
For cycling fans who want to wear the team design, Specialized offers replica versions of the kit. The replica jersey is made from a performance-optimised fabric blend inspired by professional kit. It features a stretchy front, breathable mesh on the back and special sleeves for all-day comfort. With 85 per cent polyester and 15 per cent elastane in the main body and 76 per cent polyester and 24 per cent elastane on the sleeves, the material composition corresponds to the professional version. The jersey also offers UPF 30+ sun protection, elasticated cuffs and hem, three back pockets and a full-length zip.
The replica bib shorts are made from a compression fabric designed to provide even support without pressure points. The material composition of 78 per cent polyamide and 22 per cent elastane corresponds to the professional version. Elasticated braces, a mesh waistband and unhemmed leg cuffs with grips are designed to ensure a secure fit. In contrast to the pro version, the Replica bib shorts are equipped with a single-density Body Geometry 3D seat pad. Specialized emphasises that comfort played a central role in the development of the kit. The breathable, moisture-wicking textiles are designed to regulate the temperature even under the highest levels of exertion and heat.
According to Specialized, the design of the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe Tour LTD kit reflects the speed and precision of the team. Every line, every shade of colour and every seam is intended to express the team's passion for speed and precision. The graphics are designed for cycling's biggest stage and represent a clear statement of intent: Pride in motion, performance in colour, style in full flight. The design follows the official team appearance of Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe and allows fans to show their solidarity with the WorldTour team.
