The Dutch cyclist Antwan Tolhoek has been banned for four years for doping. The world cycling organisation UCI announced this in a press release.

Antwan Tolhoek has been banned for four years up to and including 6 February 2028, according to a ruling by the UCI Anti-Doping Court. The cyclist had already been provisionally suspended since February 2024. The 31-year-old Dutchman tested positive for an anabolic steroid in an out-of-competition test in November 2023.

At the time, he was under contract with Team Lidl - Trek. He celebrated his only professional victory in 2019 on a stage of the Tour de Suisse, then wearing the Jumbo-Visma jersey. He last rode for the Portuguese team Sabgal-Anicolor in 2024. Tolhoek has one month to appeal against the judgement. Tolhoek took part in the Tour de France in 2018, the Vuelta a España once (2017) and the Giro d'Italia twice (2019 and 2020).
