Prominent newcomer: Pauline Ferrand-Prévot will be riding for Team Canyon-SRAM from the 2017 season. The 24-year-old Frenchwoman is one of the most internationally successful and versatile female cyclists. Last year, she became the first woman to hold the world titles in road racing, mountain biking and cyclocross at the same time.
There had previously been speculation in France about a possible end to the career of the currently most versatile female cyclist. After a disappointing 2016 season for her, Ferrand-Prévot had said after the Olympic Games in Rio that she did not know whether she would get back on a bike. In Rio, Ferrand-Prévot, who was spoilt for success, finished 26th in the road race and had given up in the mountain bike race. "Cycling was my favourite thing to do, but it has become my biggest nightmare," she wrote about a month ago in her first disappointment. However, shortly before the switch to Team Canyon-SRAM was announced, she tweeted that she had resumed training.
