This was officially announced by Ineos Grenadiers in a press release on Wednesday. Both parties agreed on an early termination of Pidcock's contract at the end of the season, which originally ran until 2027.
"Tom has big, multidisciplinary ambitions and we believe this decision will allow us both to pursue our future ambitions with clarity, purpose and determination," John Allert, CEO at Ineos Grenadiers, is quoted as saying in the press release. During his time at Ineos, which began in 2021, Pidcock won the Arrow of Brabant 2021, a stage at the Tour de France 2022, a stage of the Tour of the Algarve 2023, Strade Bianche 2023 and the Amstel Gold Race 2024. The all-rounder also won gold in the mountain bike competitions at the 2021 and 2024 Olympics and became cyclocross world champion in 2022. Accordingly, Allert honoured Pidcock for his achievements.

"We are really proud of the work we have done with Tom to help him achieve some extraordinary and memorable moments. Together we have written a strong chapter and shown how exciting and diverse professional cycling can be," says Allert.
It is not yet known what the future holds for Pidcock and which team he will ride for next year. After the 25-year-old was withdrawn from the squad for the Tour of Lombardy at short notice in October, there were initially increasing signs that he would be leaving Ineos for the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team. But then things cooled down again for the Swiss second-division teambefore another surprising U-turn was made, reigniting speculation.
A possible move from Pidcock to Q36.5 would be a transfer that would make sense from the point of view of the team and its environment. Ivan Glasenberg, who has built up a fortune worth billions with the commodities group Glencore, holds shares in the clothing company Q36.5 and is also involved in the Q36.5 team. The super-rich man is also rumoured to have bought the Pinarello bike brand in 2023. Pidcock's Ineos Grenadiers team currently rides Pinarello racing bikes. The all-round star would therefore be the missing piece of the puzzle that would catapult Glasenberg's cycling empire into completely different spheres of public perception. However, the Q36.5 team itself is currently riding Scott racing bikes. If Pidcock were to bring Pinarello with him, a solution would have to be found.
