Australian professional cyclist Ben O'Connor has taken the overall lead after winning the third stage of the 101st Tour of Catalonia.
After 161.1 kilometres from Perpignan to La Molina, the 26-year-old came out on top ahead of the Spaniard Juan Ayuso and the Colombian Nairo Quintana and now also leads the overall standings ahead of this duo. It was the third stage win for an Australian in this year's edition of the seven-day tour.
The tour continues on Thursday with the fourth stage over 166.7 kilometres from La Seu d'Urgell to the mountain finish in Boí Taüll. The race ends after seven stages on Sunday in Barcelona.
