The young hopeful has thus committed to the German team, which is part of the Women's World Tour, until the end of 2028. Niedermaier has been racing for the team since she started out in road cycling and has developed into a promising rider in a short space of time. "It's a really nice feeling to extend the contract. I'm really enjoying my time with the team - it feels like a second home to me. I've been here since the beginning of my cycling career. It's been like a journey together. I made the decision with my heart and I feel that it's the right decision," explains Niedermaier.
Niedermaier signed her first contract with CANYON//SRAM Generation for the 2022 season and began her professional career in May of the same year. Niedermaier achieved impressive success just a few months later, winning two stages and the overall classification of the Tour de l'Ardèche. Due to her strong performances, Niedermaier was already promoted to the World Tour team for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Her rapid rise continued, although she had her own doubts at first. "When I joined the team, I had only just started cycling. I think I've developed a lot since then and learnt a lot. There were certainly times when I felt overwhelmed and asked myself: 'Do I really want to be a cyclist?' But the team was always there to support me and said: 'Yes, you can do it, we believe in you'. I also know that Ronny always believed in me, which is a great feeling. I think that's also the reason why I've developed so much over the last few years," says Niedermaier.
Niedermaier celebrated significant successes in the 2023 season. She won a stage at the Giro d'Italia Donne and secured the title at the U23 Time Trial World Championships. She also won the rainbow jersey in the time trial at the Tour de l'Avenir Femmes. In 2024, she successfully defended her U23 world title. 2025 also got off to a promising start with victories in the junior classification at the UAE Tour and the Itzulia. Niedermaier has clear goals for her future career: "There are many things I want to achieve in cycling. One of them is to win the Giro one day - that's a big goal. I also think I can do well in the classic races, so I'm looking forward to more of that." Team manager Ronny Lauke sees great potential in Niedermaier: "In my opinion, she is one of the future contenders for overall victories - strong on long climbs, combined with excellent time trial skills. She is still very young, but has a strong mentality. She cares a lot about the people around her, is a real team player and has the ability to shine individually in the decisive moments."
