Before the start of the seventh stage of the 2023 Tour de France in Mont-de-Marsan, an extraordinary bike was leaning against the Bora bus: Jai Hindley's Specialized Shiv TT.
Normally the time trial bikes aren't even on the road yet, especially not at the start of a stage, because the time trial in this Tour doesn't take place until the last week. Perhaps Hindley wants to use the rest day today to train?
Specialised Shiv TT: Custom-made carbon construction as a trailer
The Shiv TT was only outside for a short time, the wheels were still in their bags. However, the handlebars caught our eye: Hindley uses a custom-made carbon construction as a trailer, mounted on the basic handlebars of the Specialized.
Thomas Pidcock (Ineos Grenadiers) is also likely to use the race-free day at the Tour of France to do a training lap on his Pinarello Bolide F. At least the mechanics prepared the Brit's time trial bike in the team truck at the end of the seventh stage.
