Radprofi Lennard Kämna steigt aufgrund einer Erkältung bei der Tour de France vor der 16. Etappe aus.
Lennard Kämna has stopped his hunt for a stage win at the 109th Tour de France and has withdrawn due to a cold. This was announced by his Bora-hansgrohe team ahead of the 16th stage.

The North German has been complaining about a minor infection for days, and his condition did not improve on the rest day either. Like his team-mates, the 25-year-old tested negative for coronavirus.

Kämna draws attention to itself

Thanks to his aggressive riding style, Kämna was one of the positives from a German perspective at this year's Tour of France, even if he was denied a happy ending. On the stage to La Planche des Belles Filles, he was only 100 metres short of the stage win, and a few days later he missed out on the yellow jersey in Megeve by eleven seconds.

The German Bora team has only seven riders available for the final week of the Tour. The team from Upper Bavaria has so far been denied a stage win.
