With Marius Mayrhofer, Florian Stork, Alexander Krieger and Hannes Wilksch, the Tudor Pro Cycling Team has signed four German riders for the first team for the 2024 season. Mayrhofer, winner of the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race in January 2023, and Stork come from Team dsm-firmenich, as does the Italian sprinter Dainese. Krieger is currently still racing for Alpecin-Deceuninck, while Wilksch rides for the Tudor development team. Storer is currently still under contract with Groupama-FDJ, former European champion Trentin with UAE Team Emirates, the team of Tadej Pogacar. In total, 27 riders are in the Tudor squad for 2024.
"The fact that we are able to attract riders of such calibre proves that our approach works and that our values are shared in the peloton," says Raphel Meyer, CEO of Tudor Pro Cycling, in the Swiss team's press release.
The Tudor Pro Cycling Team, owned by Swiss former professional cyclist Fabian Cancellara, belongs to the UCI Pro Teams and is therefore a category below the World Tour - the premier league of professional cycling - but nevertheless takes part in numerous major races by invitation.
The Tudor Pro Cycling Team is aiming for promotion to the World Tour in 2026. The new additions should help them take this step. "I'm thrilled that these new riders will strengthen the team. But first and foremost, we are adding some great people to an already great group of guys," Fabian Canellara is quoted as saying in the Tudor Pro Cycling Team press release.
