Two weeks before the start of the Tour de France, defending champion Tadej Pogacar has returned with his first victory in around three months.
The 23-year-old reigning Tour-de-France-Pogacar won the third stage of the Tour of Slovenia in his home country and also took the overall lead. The race, which ends on Sunday in Novo Mesto, is also the Tour dress rehearsal for Pogacar, who won on Friday after 144.6 kilometres ahead of his Polish team-mate Rafal Majka.
But there were also corona worries in Pogacar's UAE team. Danish team-mate Mikkel Bjerg tested positive during the race. His Norwegian team-mate Vegard Stake Laengen also had to leave as a precaution.
Pogacar celebrated his last victory by winning the Tirreno-Adriatico on 13 March.
