Tadej Pogačar has revolutionised cycling in recent years with his aggressive riding style. The Slovenian from UAE Team Emirates - XRG relies on a tactic that has long been considered outdated in modern cycling: extremely early and powerful attacks that lead to impressively long solo rides. While many professionals rely on tactical riding and late attacks, Pogačar has proven time and again that he is capable of riding alone at the front for dozens of kilometres and defending his lead to the finish - as he did recently on Sunday at the European Cycling Championships. Pogačar's ability to attack early and maintain the lead has earned him a reputation as one of the most complete racers of all time. His dominance spans one-day races, Grand Tours and world championships alike, as our ranking shows.

Tadej Pogačar also left his mark on the oldest cycling classic "La Doyenne". At Liège-Bastogne-Liège 2025, he launched his decisive attack 35 kilometres before the finish on the climb of La Redoute and rode solo to victory. He repeated his tactics from the previous year, when he attacked on the same climb 34.4 kilometres from the finish and also took a commanding victory. Behind Pogačar, a chasing duo of Ben Healy (EF Education - Easy Post) and Giulio Ciccone (Lidl - Trek) formed on the final climb. The latter secured second place in the final sprint, while Healy had to settle for third place.
