In her last real season, van den Broek-Blaak scored another coup with the Dutch championship - she ended her career in spring 2025
In the 2025 season, many big names from the peloton have announced the end of their careers. Time to take a look back at their greatest moments in the saddle. Here in portrait: Chantal van den Broek-Blaak.

Chantal van den Broek-Blaak has called it a day. Her career began early on - as a junior with the 2006 national double title on the road and in the time trial, she was able to add to this success with the European Junior Championship title. For the 2015 season, the Dutchwoman switched to the Boels - Dolmans Cycling Team. There she won the 2016 World Championship title in the team time trial and Gent-Wevelgem, as well as the overall classification in the Boels Rental Ladies Tour, as she had already done in the 2014 season. The switch heralded her most successful years in cycling.

Winning streak in classics

After her success as national champion, van den Broek-Blaak was later able to celebrate the world championship title in Norway in the 2017 season. In spring 2018, she triumphed in the Ardennes classic Amstel Gold Race and became Dutch champion once again. She also won the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and the Tour of Flanders.

After joining the SD Worx team, van den Broek-Blaak was able to shine once again, winning the Strade Bianche and Dwars door het Hageland one-day races. She also repeated her overall victory in the Simac Ladies Tour (formerly Boels Rental Ladies Tour). After a pregnancy break in 2023, van den Broek-Blaak returned in 2024, but was unable to repeat her great successes. However, she did manage one more surprise - she became Dutch road champion again, bringing her career to a worthy close.
