"He will return to the Tour next year. That's the race where he wants to show that he's number one in the world. He will be back," explained Zeeman. The 31-year-old Slovenian had a great chance to win his first Tour overall last year, but was caught by his compatriot Tadej Pogacar in the final mountain time trial.
This year, Roglic wanted to make another attempt, but crashed in the first few days. After losing massive amounts of time to the once again outstanding Pogacar and other rivals on the first Alpine stage, he left the race early on Sunday. Zeeman said he had no doubt that Roglic would be back at the start of the Tour in Copenhagen in 2022.
