This is what you call a staged scandal: an American music video shows a doping skateboarder and cyclist. Cool sound spreads a questionable message.

Tim Commerford, who became world-famous as bassist with Rage Against the Machine, has produced his own music video. The video also features the voice of Lance Armstrong. He spoke a few crude sentences into the microphone especially for the video. Commerford describes Lance as a cool guy and personal friend. The two occasionally cycle together.

Lance should like the message of the video - the musician criticises the fact that, in his opinion, far too much attention is paid to performance-enhancing drugs. In the interview, he explains that he is fascinated by performance-enhancing substances and even suggests that he consumed real doping substances for the video.

"What really bothers me is that we have presidents who have the gall to address the nation and talk about steroids in sports as if it has any meaning to us ordinary citizens. We should be concerned with the real drug war: the heroin in our country, the people being locked up and killed because of it. That's much more important to me than steroids," the musician explained in an interview with Radio.com.

Is it all just an exaggerated provocation to get more media attention?
