The two broadcasters concluded a corresponding agreement with the Amaury Sport Organisation (A.S.O.) via their sports rights agency SportA. In addition to the rights for the live broadcast of the Deutschland Tour 2019, 2020 and 2021, this also includes comprehensive re-utilisation rights on all distribution channels.
Das Erste and ZDF will broadcast the tour live from 29 August to 1 September 2019. This year, the route will lead through various German states: from the capital of Lower Saxony, Hanover, via the Harz Mountains, Marburg (Hesse), Göttingen (Lower Saxony) and Eisenach (Thuringia) to the Thuringian state capital of Erfurt.
The start of the Deutschland Tour can be seen live on Ersten on Thursday, 29 August 2019, from around 16:00. The first stage leads from Hanover to the Harz Mountains. On Friday, 30 August 2019, ZDF will take over from 16:00 and broadcast the second stage from Marburg to Göttingen live. The third stage from Göttingen to Eisenach can be seen live again on Saturday, 31 August 2019, from around 4:15 p.m. on the first channel. The finale in Thuringia from Eisenach to Erfurt will be broadcast live on ZDF on Sunday, 1 September 2019, from 14:00.
